Bakery Supply Details
This place has a decent selection of baking and candymaking supplies.
It's not particularly well-organized and the staff are both rude and not
that helpful. (Additionally, while I was there one of the owners
{presumably} sat at a desk in the middle of the shop and was shouting at
a cell phone to someone {his adult child??} about some very personal
matters. Other customers and I exchanged uncomfortable looks). Although I
was anticipating prices here to be higher than the bakeware shops I'm
used to in other parts of the country, this prices here aren't just New
York City pricey, they're downright insane. Disappointing.
I went in for Christmas cookie cutters as mine are in storage in the UK at present. While I did buy a few, I could have bought them from my favorite bakeware place in Wisconsin AND had them shipped here for less than the cost at NY Cake. Hopefully I'll find another NYC area baking supply shop as I do like shopping local, but if I don't I'll be shopping online from my old stand-
